FYI General Service Announcement.

Just realized that some updates Elinchrom wants to make for devices use Java. I consider Java a security issue. I grudgingly allowed it and did the updates and will now remove Java from my PC.

Heck, even PayPal recently made a security update to prevent malicious access and code execution to their backend servers and data. This was related to Serialization/Deserialization security issues in Java.

So, if you update your Elinchrom devices, you may want to nuke Java - that is unless you use Java in your world. Besides, Java will take up to 100 MB of space on your system.

All this is just my humble opinion. I am sure many will opine otherwise.

No... This is not JavaScript. It's "Java". Totally different.

Once I got over the feel of the Digisky I realized what a nice meter it is.

Well, it's with this that we bring another thread to a 10k post close. Certainly not with the bang of previous threads... no photos of Mike as Godzilla destroying the city. No broken threads. Perhaps we've gone out with a whimper?

Proposed titles for the next thread...

Finally!got the Sekonic L-478DR-EL
Having owned Sekonic from the L-358 to the 758 i was not to keen about the digisky.. which i got simply because it supports skyport.

Feature wise the Sekonic is quite a leap over the digisky, build there is no comparison. ;-)a

The threads not dead yet? And no new one?

Well, I do have a question about Elinchrom Barn Doors. Maybe a few questions. :)

How do they attach? I have an S35 Spot which is the old, huge fresnel. It looks like the metal slats welded on the sides might allow a flat piece of metal to slide under them, so I presume this is how they connect. Anyone know for sure?

The current production barn doors recommended seem to be the ones for the 17" reflector:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com …le_Leaf_Barndoor_For.html (external link)

A good four barn door set typically had smaller doors for one pair.

There are two sets designed for use with the 21cm reflector. The professional version includes the 26010 above (the 17" reflector set) plus several smaller sizes.

Will these smaller doors attach to the s35?

Any insight you can provide would be helpful. The local dealer doesn't stock Elinchrom.

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

I'm definitely interested in something like that....

I'm in also but really would like a pocket wizard radio that relays except using the Elinchrom signals i.e. Able to use my pw tt1 to change settings on my quadra packs. I can use a plus radio to trigger but have to use Skyport transmitter to Shang power settings and turn on/off the modeling lights. I don't have enough yet to use elichrom only still need to use canon speedlites still.

Contact http://www.macgroupus.com/ (external link). They are Elinchrom's presence in the US.
