It is a bit dark but I can still see detail in the costume using my iPhone.

One more fault I forgot to mention with the Sony Zeiss Distagon 35mm F1.4 ZA: Onion rings in the bokeh balls are a turn-off for some. Not ideal, but also not a deal-killer for me.

(SR3) New source says 16-35mm GM to be announced within one month. 135mm FE also coming soon.

the 135 excites me. i hope it's at least F2 with 11 circular blades like the 85GM.

Yeah, I think you'll be getting what you're hoping for. :) I'll be absolutely shocked if it's not the 135mm that every portrait shooter has been pleading for.

Once they knock out the 16-35mm GM and 135mm they probably should get super-serious on some sport lenses, or that a9 will seem like a waste. We could start seeing a9s on the professional and college sidelines if they had glass like a 400mm 2.8 GM.

Wide angle I mean like 24-35mm
But ya
And I would like auto focus and not have to use an adapter. From what I've seen it's basically the 28 mm and then the 2x 35 mm?

Batis 25 is the best native I've used in that range (I've not tried the 35 1.4)

I went back and looked at two distinctly dark sky nights...one before updating the firmware and one after...there might be fewer small stars in the more recent image, but it certainly doesn't seem as bad as some of the images shown around the intarwebs...and if I had never known about it, I would have never even thought about it...so I am not gonna sweat it...too much other crap in life to worry about than faint little stars that in reality might clutter up an image...gonna use the camera like nothing happened...if Sony puts out a patch, I will patch...if not...oh well.

My favourite image I shot last year was the Astro shot at the Neolithic stones on the Isle of Lewis. This was shot on firmware 3.3 too so I'm also not going to sweat it. Just like I don't sweat the dreaded 12 bit mode etc

Release a 16-35 f2.8 and a fast 135 and sports lenses are all Sony will really have left to release. Pretty impressive how quickly they built out the FE mount.

More Smooth Reflections fun, this time 4 30 second frames. The B25 got so much work on this last trip...really glad I added it to the bag.

This is exactly why I sold my sigma lenses. They are hands-down the best lenses I have ever shot in any regards but unfortunately they almost cost me a surprise proposal so they had to go. I'm torn between the 28 mm for 450 or the 35 mm for 800.
I read a lot of reviews saying that the 35mm was good it's just not worth the money and people wish they were cheaper. At the same time, I don't really have many cheap options so I'm pretty torn on what to do. Are used to use a 24 mm Sigma for my family sessions or anything I needed a wide lens for but I think I'm gonna cut down to 35 mm instead.
