Yeah I saw this lens I just didn't want to spend 1500 on a wide angle. Currently I need a flash set up which is gonna cost me a couple hundred that is in gonna eat into my lens money but.
Maybe I will wait. I really would like to have a nice 35 mm. There were some times I shot 24 and realized it was a little too wide but that was just for my personal conceptual work.

Travis and others who had issue with sigma lenses, have any of you guys gave the mc-11 a try? I have one but no sigma glass at the moment.

Please forgive my posting a non- Sony image here but I hope you'll understand my excitement about this photograph.

Very recently, I was contacted by a 2nd cousin I never knew of before through ancestry.com. Her grandfather was my grandfather's brother. She was able to verify a photograph I had from another person was indeed my great grandfather. This is the first time I've ever known what he looked like.

So, I wanted to share my edit of that photograph and ask if you have any comments about the edit, I'd appreciate hearing it.

That is the adapter that I used. And I was having trouble focusing at 640 iso when it was about -1 on the light meter. I also had an issue to where he would focus to infinity them back and would be out of focus a few times even during the day. Rather unfortunate

for the size Eddie?

Yes, I find the 2.8 version a bit blah. The 1.4 version is too big so hoping a f/2 version is released similarly sized to the FE28 and FE55

This is exactly why I sold my sigma lenses. They are hands-down the best lenses I have ever shot in any regards but unfortunately they almost cost me a surprise proposal so they had to go. I'm torn between the 28 mm for 450 or the 35 mm for 800.
I read a lot of reviews saying that the 35mm was good it's just not worth the money and people wish they were cheaper. At the same time, I don't really have many cheap options so I'm pretty torn on what to do. Are used to use a 24 mm Sigma for my family sessions or anything I needed a wide lens for but I think I'm gonna cut down to 35 mm instead.

Ah that is unfortunate. I held onto the mc-11 because I thought it would provide a suitable alternatives to expensive native glass. The main reason I went native is because reliable AF is critical to what I shoot.

With your regards to needing a native wide angle...there's quite a difference in FOV between 28mm and 35mm....particularly if you're shooting people (distortion). I tend to dislike portraits wider than 35mm...this was the main reason I sold the 24-70gm. I did not like the photos of people on the wide end of the lens at the last wedding I shot.

The difference in the amount of blur between the fe28 and fe35 is not significant but of course the FOV is different. I did a comparison about a year back. I can try to dig it up when I get to a computer.

Well I only use a wide angle for groups more than two people. I actually did a couple with the 50 mm and it turned out pretty well.

Full body and all.

I just need something for families bigger than two people and I used to use a 20 for Sigma for it and it was fine to be honest but yeah I think I may want a 35 I just don't like my options. The 28 mm seems perfectly fine since it's only 450 bucks. More than I would like to spend on a low budget lands but seems like it would be good enough to get the job done

I have enough for the Sonnar 35mm tho and they have it in stock at a local store ._. I may just get it and be done.

I've got one but prefer 35mm and like to shoot at the focal length instead of cropping in

Yeah I was hoping batis had a 35 mm. I was thinking about getting the 25 since I really do love that series of lens. I have the 85 mm and it's freaking great.
Uhhhhhhh
Idk haha I've just read over and over the $800 35mm just wasn't worth the cost and the dxo score were pretty low compared to any other 35mm ha

I think there's a native Samyang FE 35 f/2.8 coming out with autofocus. I'm sure it would be cheaper than the sony offering at f/2.8. Supposedly it's the same design and everything...just cheaper. Don't know of any sample images as of yet though.

Yeah unfortunately I kind a need something now because I just swapped a Sony and have no lenses at all to shoot but I need to shoot which means I'm losing out on money so. I will probably just get the 2.8 and call it a day. Don't see many other options
Besides the Zeiss 25 mm

You should be able to get a clean used copy of the 35 for much cheaper than retail. You could probably grab a grey copy for $550 or so new as well.
