You don't have to thank me for this one but yeah, that image was pretty great!

Was shooting through glass to get this pic, so had to attempt to mitigate the glare as always; did my best ... Anyways.
This photo really spoke to me, lots of emotion from this lone guy here... felt bad for him. Kids were banging on the glass, he just turned his back to them; was sad to say the least.

Thanks for the back story, I have mixed feelings towards zoos, it is nice to be able to see the animals but I hate seeing them captive and the way others act (banging on glass, etc).

I see this is the NC Zoo in Asheboro. I was there a few weeks ago with family so I didnt get to focus and really take pictures but I will say I like the layout of that zoo more than the ones back home (Brookfield and Lincoln Park in Illinois), the animals seem to have a good amount of space to roam.

I guess the question is what are these animals chance of survival in the wilds given environmental degradation and poaching? Is it better to be alive but caged or free until killed to make bush meat or so that a palm oil farm can go up?

Werribee Zoo, Melbourne Australia had 4 lion cubs, 16 weeks ago, 2 males, 2 females and oh boy were they out on show today..

Very, very cute. Except for dad. Don't piss him off..

Thanks Frank.

They are all but two from my local zoo Marwell, Hampshire, small but great little zoo.

The Lynx mum & cubs and Cheetah cubs are from ZSL Whipsnade [North of London past ST Albans] (I was always pestering my parents to take me Whipsnade or London zoo as a kid). I don't get to Whipsnade often now as it is a long run from Hampshire.
