Finally had a chance to take my wife to Hanging Lake (14 miles east of Glenwood Springs). The hike is short, but 1100' of elevation gain in ~1.2 miles. LOL

After the inferno - day after the 2017 NE Colorado range fire. It burned a 26 mile stretch of prime pasture and corn and wheat fields - passed 5 miles north of my home.

I remember that place. You got there at a good time to capture the light on the face of the waterfall. Did you walk behind it? And did you walk up to the Spouting Rock around the corner down that path?

:-) :-) :-)

The tree on the left helps but I wish it had been nearer to the camera.

Thanks again for happy memories.

The lower fall isn't accessible anymore (to my knowledge). There has been too many peeps getting into the water or disturbing the delicate ecosystem of Hanging Lake.

I did go up to Bridal Veil Falls above Hanging Lake (~300 yds).
