Glow Parapop

I ordered a 38" Glow Parapop and The Flashpoint eVolv 200 from Adorama yesterday and both arrived today.

I charged the battery and set up the Parapop. I will hopefully use them this weekend and will be posting samples. Very excited.

Looking forward to your updates. That is the modifier I have been looking at as well.

I went out this afternoon and took some self portraits with my new light and soft box.

The light quality is good. I am pleased with it. The ease of using High Speed Sync made getting images simple. After about a little more than an hour, I started to notice an increase on the recycle time. It was significant. I had to wait 4-5 seconds. I also notice the battery symbol on the display flashing. My battery was low and I was using it for less than two hours. I think it was because most of my shots were on High Speed Sync. I took a total of 97 images.

I want to try again and use it regular, without the High Speed Sync. Still, I have decided to get an extra battery, maybe two.

Yes, I like the light very much. I am going to get another one.

Slightly OT, but - IME pulsing HSS makes the light/battery work c X5 harder than normal (otherwise like-for-like). Meaning that batteries last, very roughly, for just 1/5th of their usual endurance. YVMV. Cheers

True. I noticed that the recycle time increased as I did more HSS shots. I will have to invest in another battery. Towards the end I was waiting 4 maybe 5 seconds. it slowed me down, very annoying. That was after 80 exposures...

So, I will have to plan sessions better, to get the shot faster to save on battery life. It may make me a better photographer...
