Try scratching it with your fingernail.

Nothing happened, so I used my wife's engagement ring. :)

Thank you! I defer to your expertise, but note that labradorite is a form of feldspar. The iridescence is full spectrum and really intense, especially on the reverse side of these stones, leading me to wonder if the mineral is spectrolite (a form of labradorite). What do you think?

Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrolite (external link)

Noted !
Upgrading labradorite to spectrolite is undoubtedly above my pay grade, although a clue could be gained from its origin, if such information is known.

Whatever it is it's nice looking and some very nice wire wrapping, too. ;)

You did a good job capturing the image, RT.

I did a quick little shoot last night with my son. His birthday is coming up and I always make custom birthday invitations. Last year it was Star Wars. This year it's Avengers.

I processed the shot, and I was digging this muted look.

However, what's Thor without his lightning? So I blue'd it up and added a bit of lightning.

You're lucky, Phillip: when my 10-year old daughter gives me that look, it means "No pictures today"!

lol. He's been in front of the camera since birth. He used to be hard-headed about it, but he loves it now.

We have a 2 year old girl we are adopting, but until the adoption is finalized, we are prohibited from posting photos of her on any sort of social media. She's more hesitant (and hard headed) to get to stand in front of a camera and pose, but she's slowly getting there after watching her big brother do it and have fun.

Embrace it now. Keep it fun and put the camera away when they tell you to. They can flip like a light switch... going from not minding the camera to hating everything about it. My two used to be okay with it, but one day decided they'd had enough. They started not wanting to cooperate and even trying to sabotage my efforts. I really had to pull back for a year or two. They're now at the age that I can (somewhat) reason with them. As long as I'm quick and discrete about it they'll allow a few shots from time to time.

It's spooky how that droid just popped up out of nowhere to appear in the final photo - sneaky little bugger
