A slow day at the base today. Just a C130 and Lockheed flew its single seater for a bit.

This is about as good as it gets. I aspire to do this someday. 1/60th, full circle prop blur, 420mm, panning, tack sharp. Wow! Really well done.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Looks like your range of subjects has increased quite a bit lately. How is the 5D4 compared to the 7D2? Miss the loss in frame rate?
Chasing the terns looking for a particular moment in the dive can rack up the shutter count fast. At least in my experience. Things are coming to life here as well. The water level in the lake across the road has climbed maybe a foot in the last 24 hours.

I just updated from the 7DII to the 5DIV. So far I am happy with the update. The 10 vs 7 FPS turned out not to be a drag. But the IQ of the 5DIV with the 100-400L II, even after appropriate cropping, beats the 7DII in my experience. I have been using the new camera every day the last two weeks, mostly for birds, so it is a real life experience.

While the 7DII is a great camera, I never liked its IQ when used with the Canon 1.4x III TC. On the 5DIV there is really very very low IQ degradation with that TC and the 100-400L II. The "croppability" of that sensor with the 100-400 II is just amazing!

Probably just needed more shutter. The pixel density requires alot of shutter and I noticed that normally on 5D3 and say 300mm I could knock off a 1/320 shot and be sharp as a tack but it required 1/640 on the 7D2.

Sucks because it only compounds the fact that the ISO king would go to the 5D4 so ya... lower shutter speed and better iso = more of an advantage.

Don't think so. I was shooting birds (not in flight though), and kept the shutter speed in a range of 1/1000 - 1/1250. Beautiful shots without the TC. Not so with it. I am not saying the IQ was bad - it was acceptable, but cannot compare with the 5D4.
