Thanks both! I need to learn more about birds, obviously! I also called a chipmunk a ground squirrel.

Ha, in Peoria, IL, chipmunks are "ground squirrels"; in northern Illinois where I grew up, "ground squirrels" are gophers! :-D Sorta like the pop/sodie thing!

Right? In Michigan we called them chipmunks. Here, everyone calls them ground squirrels. You nailed it with the pop/soda thing. When I lived down south, every soft drink was referred to as a "coke", regardless of what it was.
