David A has an issue and I've read a couple others but that was early on when it first came out.

My copy had a tilted element that produced the bizarre effect that the distant objects on the left side of the frame were actually in focus where they should have been blurry/out of focus. I do regard the lens as having serious QC issues and when I buy mine I'll buy new so I can return it and try another one till I get it right. That said, hopefully those issues have been ironed out and the chances of a good copy are improved.

If I decide to pull the trigger on one...I will be doing the same.

I liked the FE 28 on the a6300 or the fe 35 2.8 if you want to keep the size down

are you planning on sharing lenses?

Instead of the FE35, if you want it to be his lens only, APS-C 35mm would be much cheaper.

I can probably take, and have taken, nearly the exact same picture, from The Beaches area just east of downtown Toronto and get the same picture - I thought that was the CN Tower in Toronto.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Wow! U.K. Pricing of the 16-35GM is £2300! To put that in perspective I paid £2400 for my a7rii

It's $2200 in B&H which converts to £1700 at current rates

isn't that normal? that European pricing...

When I took my A6300 to Germany, the camera was 2 weeks old, I bought it for $1100, in Germany I stopped by a camera store and they were selling for 1400 Euros.

Seems to be getting worse. When the a7rii came out we paid in pounds the dollar price. Now we are paying in pounds above the dollar price . Any thoughts of a 16-35GM for me are now gone. I would rather have a second a7rii for that money
