Pat,
Under such harsh sun, the exposure came out quite balanced. What AE mode did you use?
Also, to my eye, the Crew picture needs about 1-3 degrees clockwise rotation; based on observing the slight lean of the crew and the feet on the ground.

A redwing blackbird posed in-between flying above me asking me to leave his nest area. I thought this was quite reasonable for iso 6400

Really nice composition and colors, but the eye of the frog is not completely in focus. Looking at the ISO, shutter speed and aperture I think there is room to close down the aperture a bit, about 4.0 or even more to make sure that eye is also sharp.

yeah you are right there was no flashlight allowed and i had a short time to get permission to do this so i tried different angles
to get the most out if it in this dark room it was a challenge handheld and it is not in my comfort zone so i learned and tried .

No, it is in Ashland, NE. about 1/2 way between Omaha and Lincoln. It is just off of I-80.
