I have not noticed that, typically when I am using the grip I am shooting a lot, so I expect the batteries to not last long. But overly fast draining, I have not experienced that.

yesterday i had a shoot. i know my batteries are still charged. but when i start doing my test shots, both batteries were dead. good thing i brought extra batteries.

Oh that... Now I see it... Sorry but that looks like a faulty mechanical shutter...

were you using manual flash or something? if flash doesn't sync properly you can capture the shutter too..

no flash
ambient lighting
outside was 100% natural lighting
I understand how HSS and stuff works
this has nothing to do with artificial lighting
its purely the camera

but I don't understand why it works everywhere else besides the indoor high ISO situation?
Wouldn't it not work at all?

It even works high ISO outdoors

Just not indoors.
I can see the shutter like move across the screen as I'm focusing....
but only inside?

Are you using electronic first curtain shutter? It looks like an extreme case of banding. Indoor lighting can cause issues with electronic shutters.

Also test out silent mode so you can see if the mechanical shutter is the issue.
