Barred Owl, so close! We had one of these living our behind our place in the winter and early Spring, but haven't heard from her in a while.

Excellent, clear capture. I haven't been able to get anywhere near this close to these Red Bellies. Now that it's full on foliage season, they're more ghost than ever.

~~~
My contribution today: an elusive Brown Thrasher, and a new encounter for me, a Yellow-Billed Cuckoo. Since today is a Sunday and I'm not at work, it's overcast and gloomy. Guarantee that tomorrow through Friday will be perfectly sunny outside. vmad
Oh, wow... I assumed you were in the water with them! Lucky you. :-) Whenever I've seen loons, they are always about 300 yards away.  :p
Ya I should never let the cat out of the bag... People loose their wow factor when they know you were laying on the couch when you shot the image.. lol
I don't like Loons on blue water much so I try and shoot lagoon's and bay's. Green water reflection's is where its at for me. I guess green grass as well lol
Wonderful shots. I'm guessing you didn't get these shots in SE PA? I've seen plenty of grackles around here but never blue ones.
There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.
This is pitiful next to the shots I see here. I need a longer lens. Blue Grosbeak.
While we all like images like the one below yours here, I still like context images like yours. Too bad about the leaf across it's forehead. Keep at it! ; )
