a6500

Pardon the first pic is not taken with an A6500... but its of me using my a6500.. soooo

Took a trip out to Lake George yesterday , great opportunity to test out the 18-105 for both still and video work..

It certainly wont blow anyone away with its sharpness.. I mean its sharp enough .. its ok,
and I guess i'm noticing it more since for the past week Ive been doing nothing but messing around with the 90 macro I just acquired and that thing is super sharp.
However , all things considered .. Price of aprox $600 , good size and low weight, constant F4 aperture, OSS and of course a very nice focal range I think it all evens out to be a very good "walk around" lens , be it for vacations or street shooting or whatever situation where you want to have quick access to different focal ranges and decent lighting will be available
Overall its not wowing me .. but I never really expected it to, I think I got what I wanted , that is the convenience of its focal range and decent sharpenss
would defenitly recommend this lens to anyone looking for an affordable general basic family/vacation use lens

This zoom and a 28 f2 and/or a 50 f1.8 (or sonyzeiss 55 1.8 if you got a little extra to spend for a super sharp lens) would make an excellent affordable , light weight and easy to pack vacation kit

Blueish tone on this pic due to ND filter I needed for video as it was super bright up there , I did the best I could to correct in LR/PS

Raw edit...some wild distortion with the 18-105mm

Couple lavender shots with the cheapo E50/1.8. I can't decide if I should upgrade to the FE 55/1.8. It would be a big chunk of change just for a bit longer FL and perhaps a bit better IQ. My guess is the Sony/Zeiss would have a bit better colors and micro-contrast. The longer FL would get me closer to FF equivalent to 85 which I really like using. The Zony 24/1.8 is superb!

A6500 + FE 90 Macro.. quickly becoming my favorite lens!

Over Cooked?

sometimes it looks just right , and then sometimes it looks over done.. eh

a6500 AF-c at work with this little guy running right at me. Little hot on the exposure but i'll take it.
