Very nice tonality here, and the slightest amount of motion blur in the wings lends some action.

I am a bit uncertain where to post these, but I believe this is the proper thread. This tiny flycatcher was flitting back and forth in the shrubbery outside my home office window this afternoon. I could not make an ID, so I thought I would try to photograph him, in spite of the difficult conditions, deep shade and through a double pane, UV tinted window. I took the 2x extender off of my 400DOii, set it to f/4 and my 7dii to ISO 3200 and waited patiently. He stopped on this branch, just 4 meters from me, for about 3 seconds. These are the two best image, taken just 200 milliseconds apart.

I think this is a Yellow-Bellied Flycatcher, but I am not certain. I saw my very first one, almost exactly a year ago, in almost exactly the same spot.

He was tiny, these are cropped about 25%. I did run Neat Image on these images before cropping. These were taken handheld in AI Servo, high speed continuous, center focus point, right on his wing bars, spot meter. Once again, I am impressed by the improved IS on this new 400DOii, as well as the improved bokeh.

Taken with an M6 and sigma 2xTC (yes, it was doing better with these Avocet chicks than my 7DII).

And the sandpiper, again with the sigma 2x TC. First is cropped a little, second is uncropped.

Are you talking about maximum sharpness, or about AF ability? Does the M6 have a weaker (or absent) AA filter?

If AF, is the 7D2 in OVF focus mode, or sensor focus?
