Shutterpat has been proving that the 5D is capable of action photography for years. He's very convincing!

I don't care for the structure behind the kids heads, otherwise very nice.

Roadtripping the past couple weeks in the SW. Here's a few from Death Valley. Naturally, there was a crazy duststorm and rain(!) while we were camping there. Rented the 16-35mm f4, very nice; I wish it were cheaper.

So I ended up buying another one of these classics. It's in great shape. It's clumsy, slow, and heavy but I do love the images I get from it. I like it's smaller file sizes for everyday use and ISO800 with a touch of NR in post is still really clean to me.

Here's an image of my rescue Starling. I found it in my yard chirping faintly in the grass under one of our palms. Mom was squawking up in a nearby tree. She certainly wasn't going to be able to do anything with the little guy(my guess was it only 6-8 days old) so I decided to take care of it. Image was taken yesterday which is 3 weeks since finding her(I believe it's a female) She is free to fly around the neighborhood and she comes to our sliding glass door when she's hungry. I see her about 3-4x a day. I can't wait for her adult feathers to come in.
