I'm taking monthly photos of my son (now 5 months) and the backdrop I want to use has a floor drop portion. I cannot get it to lie flat on the floor despite trying to tape it down. Any tips or tricks to get it to lie flat? Do I need to cut the floor portion off of the backdrop?

How big is it? I have one of the faux wood rolled floor and I use 5lb weightlifting plates one the corners.

I found covering it with plexiglass seems to work best.

The floor portion is about 5 x 5 ft

You could always just opt for cheap laminate flooring from the hardware store. Works well and cleans up easily. Best of all it looks real, because it is. I got mine from Home Depot for under $1 a square foot.

I went with the plexiglass approach and it worked well for a photoshoot I had last year.
