SAR reporting SR5 for sigma lenses this summer http://www.sonyalpharumors.com …ns-will-announced-summer/ (external link)

SAR annoys me at times but when they go SR5 it's usually correct. Exciting times

This is something we've been waiting for!!! :) :)

I think I would have been happy with a f/1.8 in all honesty [If it was sharp & usable wide open]

I really hope that it's fully compatible with all features and af points and performs just like Sony lenses. The Sigma 30mm 1.4 is nice on the a6500 but it doesn't utilize the complete PDAF points like the Sony lenses (the outer points do t use PDAF) and it focuses slightly slower and louder than Sony lenses.

I think the MC-11 adapter limits the PDAF area to. Is there a way to know where the boundaries of the PDAF system with Sigma lenses are? I wonder if this is why the MC-11 would randomly not focus.

I'm giving the MC-11 another go this week...24-35 F2 and the 135 f1.8 this wknd.

Mine doesn't. I wouldn't want to that since I use capture clips. Mine do have the tripod screw though

Capture clips?

Good points. Are the existing A-mount lenses not as good? My friend's a mount 24-70 is tack sharp. I don't know with others.

They are good, but not as good as older DSLR lenses. 85l doesn't match 85 GM
50L doesn't match sigma 50 or zony 50 1.4

Etc...

Holiday is in August so July would be perfect ;)

Just the price to deal with but as it's a lens specification that I'm really after & I'd really use I'm willing to spend a reasonable amount ;) - I'd have the FE35/2.8 & Voigtlander CV40/1.4 to sell against the cost anyway so that eases matters a little :)

Sigma 35 art is/was when announced 899. So I would expect the new lens in that range.

That's true the area is limited to similar area like af system on DSLR. So 50ish percent from the center.,

Shot 2200 pictures on a9 today. Battery was at 100% when I started and at the end I had 41% left.

Hope you're right, but that doesn't account for inflation (5 years ago). Plus they won't sell as many (smaller market), so they may have to price it higher.

The newer Sigma lenses are kind of expensive too.

$1,200 for the 85 ART
$1,400 for the 135 ART

Sooooooooooooooo My buddy is a video nerd and wanted to borrow my camera and asked why Picture Profile I used.
I said none and he said I'm depriving myself of image quality and color quality.

I told him I shot raw and I didn't think stuff like SLOG2 and LUTs applied to photos but he is 110% sure that it does?

Can someone answer me this?

I'm kinda confused because every time I open the raw image in ACR it looks the same as every other one.

He is even going so far to say that Adobe isn't recognizing but it does in fact matter how I shoot, even If I shoot raw photos./

yar

Laowa 12mm

No HDR. Single base exposure merged with another just for the water where I used the SR app. The image looks a bit flat to me even after dodging and burning. Crappy light that day and those people never moved even after waiting 15 minutes.

When shooting raw picture profile only affects the image you see on the LCD when reviewing it doesn't effect the raw
