I am reminded of the story of a duckling who got into a conversation with a pig. The pig invited the duckling for a swim in a secret, pristine lake. He proceeded to jump into his muddy, excrement filled puddle, splashing the poor duckling with filth. He then invited the duckling to join him in the "exquisite lake," exclaiming upon all the virtues of the "lovely body of clear water."

The more involved the duckling gets with the pig, the more covered in excrement the duckling will become. Conversing, explaining, bargaining and arguing with the pig just ends being covered in so much feces that you can no longer walk away.

The more quickly you can extract yourself, the better. Learn the lesson and move on.

Pigs in $41+ are not going to become educated by ducklings. They just want to pull you into their mud. Run!

:)

Cause it usually quacks people up?

Or maybe because we are discussing a client who doesn't want to pay the bill?

;)

Personally I think it's because people on here are suffering from some strange duck related Mallardy.

Proofs she wants, proofs she gets, this is a 'contact sheet' from a recent graduation shooting as an example:

Printscreens of the photo thumbnails in jpeg format.

PS: This is an example, I am not a pro and the graduate is my son

If you do capitulate to her blackmail and give her the RAW files in return for her promise of recommendations, all she's going to do is tell everyone you can be bullied into giving away poor quality freebies, why would you even want that?

Hype chimping - The act of looking at your screen after every shot, then wildly behaving like it's the best picture in the world, to try and impress other photographers around you.

<Sigh> 'older' and 'wiser' is often a truism. I really shook my head when I learned that digital shooting 'pros' were giving their clients CD/DVD full of images!
Us 'old timer' film shooters had our business practices, and the newer generation shook their heads at our antiquated ways.

After more than decade of the new practice of giving away CD/DVD full of images, it is coming back to bite pros in the arse because it is an expected practice by the client! The same clients don't pay for their music either, they copy tunes from friends and relatives and the web....the new 'morality' in action. "Why won't you give me all of my images on DVD, my wedding photographer did!"

You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php
