I've struggled to find interesting subjects for the wide end of my 16-35mm. This is a excellent example of how to use a UWA lens.

Chris, it can be very difficult to get a decent composition, can't it! I think I prefer shooting in portrait with this lens, scene's just seem to look more complete?

Why is it so purple?

Does not seem that way to me, but my monitor caliberation could be off.

I just calibrated mine, and I'm afraid I see the same thing. VERY magenta.
Kind of works well with the photo though.
