This Killdeer picked about the worse place it could to build a nest. Right where people turn around in a gravel parking lot. I could have gotten closer but did not want to stress the bird any more than necessary. Last night everyone was taking photos with their smartphones of the bird all ruffled up and fussing at them. With kids running around everywhere and people only five to ten feet away taking photographs, I imagine the Killdeer got tired of people being around.

This one was taken today late in the afternoon when the sun was low.

Was there Sunday and saw this Killdeer and another copulating so I guess that means the bird will likely be in the middle of the parking lot for 20 to 24 more days. -?
