It can be hard to tell if you're focusing on something at "hyperfocal" distance when the distance scale is crap and you're out it the woods without a tape measure. I have the same issue with my lens. If I focus on the ground in front of my feet and then stop it down to f/5.6 everything is in focus, but if I'm at f/2.8 trying to find hyperfocal can be finicky. I tried just last night and couldn't get it. Theoretically it should be just under 3 feet, and yet. . . . . .

Agreed. I have 2 FE lenses. Both are f/2.8 and a nightmare to focus wide open, on very close subject matter. I don't use my FEs like that very often, though. Luckily, the Sigma has AF for those few times I need it. BTW, I just picked up the Sigma 12-24 II. Killer lens if you like wide.

Yesterday, i took my lens to local service center to replace the lens hood, so i though i let them correct optical part as well, unfortunately they told me that it is not possible, because everything is glued together, so they are no screws :(

A full-sky panorama taken on a camping trip last week. That's my brother-in-law doing some binocular observing in the lower part of the image.

I stitched approximately 30 images (each 30 sec exposures with my 6D and Samyang 14mm lens at f/2.8 and 6400 iso) using Microsoft ICE to make this panorama.

There's a filter for star focusing on Petapixel, don't remember what it's called. I wonder if I can rubber band that to the front of the Samyang and take it off to shoot?

I try to sell cheap this lens because of worsening decentering symptoms and unreliable focus.

I really liked this lens at the beginning, but it seems decentered issue got worse, edges are blurred on left side so much that even stepping down to f/16 isn´t helping.
Unfortunately this lens can´t be repaired, only replaced, so there are no out-of-warranty fixes.

New buyers should probably know this. Test your lens properly right after you buy it and replace it as soon as you spot any issues.

Shot from Joshua Tree National Park.

I Used my Rokinon 14mm F/2.8. 8 images manually stacked in Photoshop for noise reduction and detail enhancement. The 8 images were ISO 12,800 @ 10 seconds each. I then used one shot at ISO 400 of the light painted rocks to composite on top of the 8 image stack. All 9 images were same exact composition on the tripod.
