I found this funny rectangular sort of shaped thing today. Had "A7" printed on it. And there were these two cylindrical things, one small and the other larger and heavier. They both had little blue squares on them and we're also black.....

I've been meaning to comment on this image....This takes "clean" to another level. Amazing work. Really, really nice image!

Thank you! It's a beautiful chapel so that helps.

The look of a man who's FP 360 is being blown over by the wind  (I was posing half a second before that )

I grabbed the stands leg a couple of inches before it hit the ground , between that and the umbrella absorbing the fall my light still works !!

I've owned these lights for a bit now.. but today is the first time I've taken them out where i'm really competing with the sun ..
what I learned... the 360 isn't quite strong enough for full body environmental portraits (when the sun is full blast over head)unless its a bare light..

The colour is just a little too saturated/vibrant for my own taste ... but they certainly grab the eye!

In person, the colors were pretty much this vivid. Hard to believe until you see the place in person, to be honest.

Hehe I've dropped the AD360 more times than I care to admit. It's sort of a normal occurrence when you take lighting equipment outside without an assistant to hold it or dragging sand bags around (utter PITA). It can take the abuse....the worst thing that happens is that the bulb comes off when it drops, but if you're using a softbox, it'll land safely inside of it.

360 really is not powerful enough to overpower mid-day sun, but I know you have two of them so if you doubled them up that should be.

New octabox. I had the 38 inch for a day before I decided to exchange it for the 48 inch. Painfully expensive, but if you shoot outdoors, its worth it IMO due to the discussions above about the wind constantly knocking these things over. Really hefty metal frame. I've had the 32 inch one for a couple of years and its still going strong. The cheaper westcott apollo that I got last fall is broken already.

I don't know why I resisted strobes for so long. This is my first bowens mount modifier and its super minimalistic.....no messing around with multiple brackets like I have to with speedlight modifiers. With the extension head on the xplor, I can set the whole thing up in 2 minutes and the set-up is really light weight.

That's why I like the Bowens Mount Holder for Speedlites I mentioned earlier so much. It makes mounting my speedlights to all my modifiers very easy. And, as an additional bonus, I don't have to worry about being finicky with the plastic hotshoe attachment of my flashes since they aren't used to mount to my modifiers with this bracket.

Here, I'm using the bracket on a "C" stand boom with a 7" reflector & barndoors.

Yeah totally. I still own a bunch of hot-shoe stuff that I'll use for multiple light set-ups....any modifier I buy going forward though will be bowens mount, and I'll get that bracket eventually.

...How does my garden grow? Here's an update on the green onion seeds I planted a week or so ago. So far, they are coming along nicely, even with the hot weather we've been having lately and the fact that I have a 'brown' thumb. -?
