I don't have to worry about being finicky with the plastic hotshoe attachment of my flashes since they aren't used to mount to my modifiers with this bracket.

Oh yeah one of my 860II has a broken hotshoe mount....same story...softbox fell over

Love the look of concentration on his face as he examines that figurine. Perhaps some day he'll be a scientist...or maybe even an engineer!

Has anyone here gone through Precision Camera to get any repairs done on their A7 series camera? How was your experience? How fast was the turnaround? And how was communication?

I'm considering sending in mine for a fix to the sticky card door issue as well as possibly a new LCD screen. It's more of a "nice to have" kind of repair. The camera works like a charm, but the sticky door and scratched up LCD drive the OCD in me crazy.

My RII and 85Gm are with them but through the Pro Support. Pro support will take your gear back and forth for free overnight shipping. And a 3 days turn around promise. Any more than that they can send you a loaner for free.

A friend of mine without the pro support have 24-70GM front glass replaced. I will ask hom for the turn around. The work is good though. My friend's lens came back in perfect condition.

My friend said as soon as his len was received by Precision, it took them 72hours to fixed it. Replaced the front glass.

12 images in SR app...13 seconds each. This is the first time that I could really see the banding in the clouds between each image. It kinds bugs me...to quote an old movie line..."First chink in the armor Ted!"

That's better than CPS. CPS has a 1 week turn-around....and I paid an arm and a leg to ship my 70-200II and 24-70II not too long ago.

Thanks for the info Vinz. I only have the one body, so no "Pro" for me. Since I have no upcoming trips, I'm thinking I'll send the body in for a "check-up". Might as well have them replace the LCD and the sticky card door. Those drive me nuts.

In other news, I'm looking at making some tweaks to my gear. Time to let go of the last of the Canon gear (EF 70-200/4 IS and EF 100-400). I'm done dealing with bulky EF lenses and adapters.
I'm going all native.

Going to move some things around, but will be making a move towards the 85/1.8 and 70-200/4 Sony lenses.
I'm kind of debating also going for the just announced 12-24...Stay tuned.
