Well done - I like several of my shots but this one beats them.

Any thoughts about buying this lens directly from Sigma as refurbished?

I would, even prefer it, because refurbs gets more quality inspection vs off the line...

Was about to buy the refurbished version from Sigma until I learned the warranty is only for 90 days. Bummer.

After following this thread, I picked up this lens earlier in the week. One from my first outing with it today.

Hi all,

Invested in a Spyder Lensecal MFA device (and to expensive too :-), did some test shots, adjusted the lens via USB docking, after 3x back and forth all was fine.
2.8 and 6 meters where clearly visible, 15 meters and 50 meters not, so I copied these values from 6 meter test to 15 meter and infinity.

All in all maybe 1 hour time spent, improvement is huge as I tested on my backyard bird feeder.
Next test will be done in "the wild".

Set my 7D mk2 to "first picture to focus prio"and kept speed up and used my old tripod with the monstrous manfrotto 393 gimbal head.
Keeper rate went up drastically and I'm happy with the result as I see a big improvement.

Picture is default sharpend in lightroom 5.7 and no noise reduction done.

Hopefully, going to pick up the lens tomorrow. Anyone have any experience with the Sirui P-204S monopod? Going to be trading my 100-400L (version 1). Hope I'm not going to be sorry !!
