Not sure if anyone follows Improve Photography but they are releasing a new app called Really Good Photo Spots. It's a database of photo locations that have been vetted. I'm excited about it. iPhone only at this time.

it's just super sharp wide open, where the 135L is just decent sharp wide open.

The 85 is my next purchase. Can you believe I haven't bought any new gear in about a year?

This is how my Air 1 Commander was set up for the 3 light portrait shots in TTL mode. In retrospect, I could have assigned both strip boxes to a single group so that they would always be at the same power but since I don't know what I'm doing yet, I thought I needed to be able to control all three flashes independently. Either way, it was very easy to adjust the balance of light between the main light and the backlights.

Have you ever used TTL with the extension head? Just curious because I know you lose a little bit of power when using it and I know Sony and TTL when using the lens wide open or close to it can sometimes underexpose from time to time in TTL from what I hear (They are currently working on fixing the firmware for Sony TTL on the Explore 600to solve this issue according to Helen Oster at Adorama). Just wondering if you've experienced and issues using TTL with the extension head. I like to use TTL when I'm shooting my kids because they tend to be all over the place and never sit still long enough to dial things in using Manual Mode.

I mentioned earlier, I used TTL on the xplor + extension head, and it was indeed under exposing. I didnt get much chance to find a work around, but did fix in post. Highly annoying

I can relay my experience...I haven't used it without the extension head but I have the cheaper extension head and find that it had plenty of power for outdoor use even inside a modifier. I have found that TTL underexposes by about 1 stop, but the exposure is consistent between shots. The first time I used it my exposures were off....but now that I have a sense of how TTL behaves on this thing it's as easy as pushing the FEC one stop higher than you normally would.
