I'm in love!!!
Nothing so fine as a lovely healthy young fox... *swoon*
Here in Australia at the moment it is mating season, so we are seeing more adult foxes out and about during daylight hours... unfortunately, this also means that we are seeing more predation on farm animals. At my work, we've lost ducks, baby goats and sheep, chickens, and have seen quite a few fox attack injuries too - all done during daylight hours. It's a bit of a conundrum for me, as I'm a big fox fan (I even wrote a husbandry manual for their care in captivity), but my job has me working with baby animals... and it's heartbreaking to find them deceased or badly hurt because the foxes are hungry... *sigh*
We are looking at getting some alpacas to act as guard animals for the young paddock goats and sheep as it's gotten that bad - and my boss is a fox fan too, so she doesn't want to bait or shoot the foxes just going about their normal lives.
