Nice shot. Yeah, it's amazing how much easier it is to set up for things that aren't about to take off. --Joe

Jun 10, 2017 12:13 | #9337 Early this morning, I saw a pair of American Robins, outside my home office window, appeared to be an adult and a nearly full grown chick, frantically searching for worms in the mulch. Later this morning, from our back yard, I noticed an adult Robin, posing on my neighbors roof top, displaying a very large earthworm. I wondered if she was trying to entice her chick to join her in a meal. She was there for at least 20 minutes, long enough for me to retrieve my 7dii with the 400DOii and the 2xiii attached. It seemed like a good test, that roof line is an honest 100 yards from my back yard. Image hosted by forum (859689) © mikeivan [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. The chick never showed up and she departed with her prey intact (mostly). MIKEIVAN

I think she is encouraging them to fly (or trying to). I got a shot of a robin doing much the same thing- cropped to remove the railing framing her. Had not thought of that, I bet you are correct. That would explain her patient display. Thanks. MIKEIVAN
