What I would like to see is your best Image of a Vista that inspires you. The dictionary definition of Vista is "a view or prospect, especially one seen through a long, narrow avenue or passage, as between rows of trees or houses". Note the "especially" part should not limit your "view".

The challenge begins when posted, and will end on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Noon EDT. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

CHALLENGE RULES:
1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, (not just DSLR)
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: See standard P.O.T.N. Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
6. Details: Show camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
7. Commenting: Please, NO COMMENTING DURING CHALLENGE feel free to comment in this thread after a winner is declared.
8. Content: Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
9. Have questions? PM me.
10. Have FUN!

* THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED! A new challenge should be posted ASAP after you have been declared the winner.

Well, the sky cooperated to-day –providing a neat reference– and I was rewarded with a smashing vista...

Well I knew by the weekend that I was in trouble trying to pick the best image here. They are all so good but here goes:

texkam: Great shot of what is surely a tough golf hole. I can almost smell the grass.
teekay: Impressive vista and great detail from the grass up front to the snow capped mountains in the distance. I think you are lucky to live where you can see this kind of beauty.
OldCrow: Wonderful capture makes me think of quite a few John Wayne movies - I think The Searchers was the main one for this vista. gives a feeling of the expanse of the west.
saea501: Blown away by the natural colors and mountains - almost like another world. Great image.
M_Six: Beautiful landscape and the quality of light is interesting. Don't know if there was any post processing but the light on my monitor is just unnatural enough to be beautiful.
01Ryan10: Good framing and far vista. Living in Indiana makes this kind of image exotic.
Alveric: Clever but not really the "Vista" that I was looking for - Although I agree with the sentiment and maybe you could add Windows 8!

First Place goes to saea501 with hair splitting seconds to teekay and M_Six.

Its up to you now saea501.

Congratulations to saea501 on a spectacular vista, and thanks, Paul, for placing mine - it's always satisfying when an old shot from my comparatively primitive G1 makes the podium.

Kudos to saea501. I knew that was going to be hard to beat. As I shared in a PM, I have an almost identical shot (view wise) as it's THE spot to shoot the whole valley. My version isn't as dramatic, though. I caught a hazy day.

Kudos also to teekay.

Loved all the other shots as well. Got a kick out of Alveric's smashing Vista. That was about the only thing that OS was good for.

LOL. Just having pulled a bit of a prank off is rewarding enough. :p

Funny thing is, Vista never gave me any problems: once I disabled the stupid UAC, it worked, I'm afraid to say, like a champ.

I did see lots of issues with it during my stints as a bench techie, though.

Congrats to saea501.
