Really like this set. Unfortunately it also highlights one of the issues with the current crop of Canon sensors in that they just can't retain highlight detail. Not sure it would have made a huge difference in the final quality... still like the shots... but it is an issue I hope Canon can address.

Please explain. As far as I can tell they retain highlights just like any other sensor as long as you don't clip them. Sure their shadow areas are mired in more noise than some other sensors, but ...

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

I bought an a6300 on a whim for a travel camera, and used my L glass on it with a cheap adaptor from BH. When I started processing them, they looked just like the canon images but with a Sony color tint rather than the Canon color. But then on a few I would go in and try to recover highlights and to my surprise detail started showing back up in the Sony raw files. It has become really obvious over the last year that the Sony has far better dynamic range than than my 5D has. I don't know the exact spec differences but in Lightroom there is easily a stop worth more detail in the images, if not more. The highlights and shadows retain far more detail.... and as such for my street and urban photography I now shoot the cheap Sony over the Canon.

Where the Sony drives me absolutely bonkers is that it is a dust magnet. I have to clean the sensor a couple of times a day when out shooting where as with the Canon I would clean before heading out and I was good for the day. And this includes even when I do use the the a6300 with my one G lens. I now carry a can of anti-static compressed air with me to solve the problem. I have kept all my L glass believing Canon will solve their chip sets dynamic range issues. I like my L glass far better than my couple of Sony lenses I now have. But for now, the dynamic range thing is so obvious I shoot the Sony almost exclusively.

Pullman Train Yard....has been owned by the city of Atlanta and several movies filmed here (like Hunger Games). Atlanta had some other cool abandoned structures, but new development has taken over. Pullman has recently been bought by a development company that will probably keep the main train house structure:
