Helldiver on flyby.

Best sky and light in the last few years in my experience. Don't like the buildings either but there aren't too many places where you can go and get access to these old airplanes like Reading, so I am not complaining.

Nothing compares with Mark's shots IMO.

Nice images!
I like the first one better. It looks like it was a painting or a stylized 3d model.
Well done!

totally agree Russ!

But it wasn't looking that good on Saturday until about noon, I was beginning to wonder about the warranty on that weather forecast! This picture of the second flight of Geico Skytypers taking off illustrates the background problem at Reading. You can try waiting until they get further down the runway, but the relative position of the aircraft is changing rapidly and you only have a couple of seconds to make your move. Better than nothing.

yeah it was even raining a little Saturday morning between 8 and 10. A lot of photographers spend some of the day shooting from the other side of the field at the end of the runway to get the better light. Maybe next year I'll spend some time there and give it a shot.

A lot of photographers spend some of the day shooting from the other side of the field at the end of the runway to get the better light.

I may give that a shot as well. One of the things I like about Reading is there are a lot of other photo opportunities with all of the re-enactors and their vehicles/accouterments. That is still expanding, saw a Nationalist Chinese contingent this year along with the American, British, German, Russian, etc. groups.

A couple more from Saturday, after the show is finished you still have the planes going up for their passenger runs. When the sun starts going down and you get into the golden hour you have the potential for some amazing shots!
