-= 80D owners unite! Discuss and post photos

Got my new 80D from Canon Refurbished today, and from my first looks at it I'm happy with my purchase. The body and 18-55 lens both look like brand new, and everything works perfectly.

The menus allow a greater range of customization than my T6s, almost as much as the 7D2. It uses the same remote shutter connection as the T6s, which looks like a small headphone cord.

Will post some sample photos once I get something worth shooting.

I went from a 60d the the 80d and it was a whole different ballgame. I love this thing.

I had a 70D briefly for two weeks. The one I had, had a back focus issue so I returned it and bit on the 80D. Besides what you listed, it's got better dynamic range and can pull more out of darker images. I love the colour rendition too.

Thanks for the link. I use DPP and dxo optics which might not work with 80d. I need to get some image processing software to take advantage us shadow pulling right?

I just upped the ISO limit settings on my 80D.

Here is an example of unedited out-of-camera jpegs with ISO 12800:

Heavily backlit image. Lifted the underexposed parts with Canon's dpp4, the did a bit of cropping and minor colour/saturation/etc. edits.

I rave about the depth of colour which the 80D gives me. Much more than my 70D did. I love this camera. I can't really think of any way Canon can improve on it. Any thoughts, folks?

I havent even recieved mine yet , but...
Some sort of hybrid evf/ovf would be nice

Dual memory card slots would be nice but I agree, the 80D really hits all the important features I want in a articulating screen DSLR.

My M3 allowed holding the AF point button to re-center the AF point in live view, is there any way to quickly do that on the 80D?

Spot AF. That's the one feature I'd really like to have.

They're excellent. I'd never thought of using the 100-400 II L for macro. Must give it a try.

First shot with my 80D and I'm very happy with the results!

Dual card slots would be nice. A full frame sensor would also be sweet. But at that point its a whole different camera. Oh and 10 fps would be useful as well
