I'm happy with this (the 7D2s performance, not mine).
Underexposed at ISO800. Not as nice as it would have been properly exposed but best shot I have of one of these birds.
3536 pixel crop.

1.4TC used. Lens sharp at f8, so f11 with TC.

Ah, understood now; didn't take into account needing 2 stops to sharpen up....though now curious as to how much sharper it is than at F8 or wide open.

Cheers

'Noticeably' would be my unscientific description. I should have used ISO1600. A bit less light and I would have lowered shutter to 1/400 or 1/320, ISO1600. A bit less again and I would have used a larger aperture to avoid ISO3200.

'Noticeably'.... is that mainly with the TC? I was led to believe the native 500 was good wide open....or do you need to go to the MkII for that?
Asking as I see a 500F4 in my future but am yet to determine if it will be a Mk1 or I will go full on and take out a mortgage on a MkII

It's good wide open. It does get sharper stopped down though. I'll do some comparison shots and let you know when I have results to see.

Hundred plus this weekend, so I stayed in the AC and went back through the archives and processed some older pics from this winter.
