So while on vacation, I am updating some stuff on my website...most notably is adding the 3 projects I shot for the Landscape Architect friend of mine in the Bay Area. We have developed a great working relationship over the last two years, I deliver, get paid and we keep going...it is great. He has decided that he will no longer shoot his own work and have me edit it anymore...he is just going to have me come out a couple times a year...we already have the next trip scheduled to shoot 4 more projects.

This is from a house in the Burlingame Area, the Owner bought it out of foreclosure, and renovated the inside and outside...the landscape was raw dirt and dead grass when he got started. The place was done with the utmost attention to detail...I loved it. I will have a few more of the inside later, the Owner was more than happy to let me shoot the main spaces inside as well while we were there.that i

One of the design elements that he works with a lot, and we documented on each project, is the approach, and how it blends into the hardscape/home.

This was a 32 image SR app shot. Exposed for the light in the sky. Then the shadows were pulled up and edited to taste...

With regards to nik if someone could just reverse engineer "pro contrast" plugin so that I knew how to apply it manually in Photoshop I'd be sorted as that's the one I mainly use

Yes, it is affecting the CC installations after 2015.

For Pro Contrast, same here! But Viveza is the one I use the most...the control points...I will be lost without those.

Another from my trip to Roan Highlands. I spent a lot of time the first morning trying to find a good set of the mountain layers. This was my favorite comp I found.

I dont use nik often due to pure laziness, but when I do, the control points are extremely handy!

like gene mentions, I simply save it and add a mask if I intend to brush in only certain parts.

On SAR just now there's a story about the sony a9 and conspiracy theories. The SAR site admin has wrote below - "Probably the worse thing about Internet is that everyone feels the right to spread all kind of unverified and illogical arguments and sell them as “truth”"

Lol I've spent two days shooting in the heat...one of those days midday on the beach. I have yet to see the overheat warning.

More pictures...another of the projects I shot out in CA, this one was in Sunnyvale. The centerpiece is a long water feature, unfortunately the Owner had not put all the furniture in place when we were there to shoot...which was disappointing, it made it tough to work the space, so I focused more on the details of the landscape...the LA was thrilled with the details, stuff he could never shoot with his camera.

The light in the front yard when we first got there was great, a little hazy, and the sun was low. As a reference, the LA had shown me some work from another designer, and he liked some of the images that had a little more mood, atmosphere, less about documenting the space, so we worked on that for this design.

There are basically people on the internet asserting that Sony is paying reviewers to give good reviews of the camera, and that Sony manipulated the press events to cover up things like the overheating and banding. Tony Northrup, who has been critical of Sony in the past, made a video debunking all of that.

All I know is that my culling process is more difficult now. Even with the a6500 with the best AF on a Sony body gave me a 10-15% throwaway rate. I would cull through the images and delete those that were clear misses or unsharp. With the a9 it just doesn't miss. My first session was about 150 shots with 3 misses and the second one was over 450 shots with 6 immediate deletes. And this was with only the 85 1.8 mostly shot wide open. Shot after shot with eye AF is tack on the eye.

The real test will be later today not when my 24-70 GM comes in (expecting it to be killer) but when my cheapo $109 used 50mm f/1.8 FE comes in.

My issue is all of the images I'm snapping at 20fps. I never thought I'd shoot 20fps that often, but its actually REALLY useful for documentary type photography as those key expressions happen in very fleeting moments and spraying and praying is easier than trying to time things in single shot mode. There's a lot of value in it when photographing kids.

I usually keep all of my raws, but will have to cull out the ones that are clearly throwaways or I'll burn through HDD's real fast.
