I just picked up a nice used X100T last week, really nice walk-around camera but it does have its limitations

Here's a shot from last night while we were waiting for our food:

A couple from a local car show. 35mm can be a little tight at times but its such as great small camera with great out of camera jpg files.

I took one of those Segway tours a week ago. This tour focused on graffiti, now legitimately elevated to Street Art. Houston, along with a number of other major cities in the US, seem to be going through a revitalized stage of this street art. It is AMAZING.

It was a challenge to take any photographically interesting images, largely because the focus of the image is art painted on a flat wall. What can you do with the composition? I did my best to use existing windows, staircases, and the environment to support the overall image.

I put these into black & white, which I think worked quite well. I'll post some color images later.

Cheers,

Also, visited the Rothko Chapel on the previous day. No photos permitted inside. I might have snuck one or two, but to be honest, I hated the place.

I will say this for it: The chapel makes you chose to embrace something, or to embrace nothing.

Metallica's Lars Ulrich, who apparently loves art of all kinds, visited the chapel last week while here in Houston on tour. It was reported that he loved it. Perhaps that's a reason he is with Metallica and my drumming career only made it as far as college marching band:).

In this image, I clipped the top of the "Broken Obelisk".

Let's be honest. I wish the camera was full frame, and the aperture was f1.4. The X100 series is a compromise. But still, the value is in the fact that this is the camera I seem to be taking with me far more often than any others.

Continuation of my earlier roadside crosses thread. I only had my Canon with me at the time (don't tell the Thread Police... you know who you are). The text reads "Dancing with the Angels."

I've never wished mine was full frame, nor do I wish it had an f1.4 aperture... that would take away it's most important trait... it's portability.
