Too bad it's not going to have an E mount version.

I thought it said EF and FE mount?

The article says EF and F mount for Canon and Nikon, and the photo doesn't look like an E mount to me.

Lol I'm a bad influence. It's a really nice 35 though!

How are you liking the a9?

It might as well be an FE mount lens since its MF. Better yet, you can do some frankenstein adapting and AF it with the TAP!

Zeiss just announced a new Milvus 35mm f1.4 manual focus only lens. $2k!!! Looks beautiful though.

Can someone smarter than me explain why they release a lens like that... MF, huge... Expensive... Who uses that?

Batis 35... Or 50....

The comments are funny on that link. The same guy confuses it as a Leica to two different people even though the first guy told him

I think it's mostly because Zeiss doesn't want to reverse engineer the canon af the way sigma and Tamron does. The e-mount is open source, and that's how the batis lenses are possiblr.

There are those who want true MF glass though....focus rings in AF lenses tend to suck. I think MF is a lot of fun....but not the best way to go about things given how good AF systems are these days.

Question for everyone. I deliberately kept the bottle out of focus to keep attention focused on the glass of beer. Now I'm having second thoughts....

Would it look better if both the glass and bottle were in focus?

I thought I'd add for the heck of it that the glass of beer is made up of two images in order to get the best looking head.

I think it looks good as is..
However in my opinion if its going to be out of focus it would look nicer further back .. perhaps further back enough that we can see the full reflection of the bottle .. or maybe that would be too busy a picture

just a thought:-)
