It really is a fantastic lens. Small, lightweight, sharp wide open, good colors, and a nice close min focus distance. It's my most used....which is funny cause when I was shooting 5Dx's I was a big 85mm fan with 35mm being second. Cory

It's a stylistic preference, but I prefer 35mm over 28mm and would probably go with option 2 if I had to pick. Glass > Body if it comes down to a focal length decision. Edit: Your idea of going with a 35 f2.8 earlier is actually not a bad one....and that little samyang 35 f2.8 looks solid. It's boring stylistically, but so are 24-70 zooms....but they work really well for documentary stuff, and that's what you need for weddings/events. yah i would go with option2 | SONY A7SIII(2) | A73 | A6000 | Sony A7IV | Sigma105 | FE1635F4 | Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 | Tamron 17-28 Tamron 28-75 | FE50F1.8 | Sony 16035F4PZ | SEL30mm F3.5 Macro | Canon 24mm TSE | Laowa 15mm Shift
