I've never wished mine was full frame, nor do I wish it had an f1.4 aperture... that would take away it's most important trait... it's portability.

IOW, no camera is without its compromises.

I totally agree. I just "wish" the camera had those qualities of a full frame and f1.4. Returning to APS-C first time since 4 years, I've realized that there, in fact, is a relevant difference between crop and full frame.

But the reality of those properties would certainly reduce the portability factor. So, yeah, I just "wish". I wouldn't reaaaally want it.

Let's be honest. I wish the camera was full frame, and the aperture was f1.4. The X100 series is a compromise. But still, the value is in the fact that this is the camera I seem to be taking with me far more often than any others.

very true, I still have my original X100 and still love it. Thing is I love my canon full frame as well :-) Im still struggling with the usual question "do I take the X100 on a trip overseas with the little X10 as a backup, or do I take the full frame and a couple of lenses?" I sway between the two choices daily and the trip is slowly getting closer LOL hard when you have a love affair with two completely different style of cameras

That and price. I agree. It's a great little carry camera with the cool retro styling. I'm glad I finally bought one.

X100 was on used shelf for weeks. Finally had the cash today and it was gone. They had a x100s for$200 more but I decided against it. Guy at shop knew I was bummed so he is gonna sell his to the shop and buy the x100s. Looks like I'll pick up the x100 on Tuesday. Woot!

Picked up the X100s on the used shelf so I spent the evening at Disneyland trying to learn it usage. Boy its gonna take me a small bit to get used to the controls or learn all it can do. I did find the B&W adjustment so I played around with that a small bit.

Out of curiosity, do you guys see a difference between applying film simulations in camera (JPEG) or in post (RAW + LR)? I keep feeling there's a difference. The JPEGs seem to have a little more character than RAWs. But when I run an actual side-by-side comparison I can see almost no difference.
