That's just excellent! I don't think it gets any better than that at 1/50 sec. on a horizontal pan!

Mark, great shot of me and my girl! The only problem with it is you can't see me! You can see my iPhone in the window! Got a little video of our landing. For everyone else, I'm down in the radioman's position, under the 8.

Not a panning shot, but is this yours? This was from yesterday in Latrobe. Beautiful plane.

Plenty of practice with all the equipment you'll use. RC parks and fast-moving feathered friends will make a big aircraft seem much easier

...and then again, sometimes you just get lucky.

ETA:
Another photographer standing nearby was telling other folks where their shutter speed needed to be. Boasting how he was down around 1/160. When he asked me what I was set at, I said "between 1/25 and 1/50". He kinda gulped, and said "Yep, that'll do".

Mark, great shot and your conversation with that photographer cracked me up.
Don

Nice work. I always like seeing your work since we have the same kit. Only one air show within 400 miles of me. It's coming up next month.

Appreciate the words, I just don't have the steadiest of hands as it is and Pentax doesn't have quite as good AF as I wish so I tend to be a little conservative in my choices. But next time.....

That's my girl! Sort of. She belongs to the Commemorative Air Force and is assigned to the Capital Wing. I'm a flight engineer/crew chief for her. I spent 90% of that weekend up on her wing giving tours, but did manage to do a little photography. If you went over the wing, chances are good that it was me you talked to.

Radial engines don't actually leak oil, by the way. They just mark their territory!
