The classic at the beach again.

Very best,

I love the colors in this set. :-)

How did you get them to stay within the studio to get the shot?:-) Looks good.

They are in a large makeshift lightbox, and only the big one was strong enough to take down the structure. :-P But, we put the babies in with her and she settled down enough for some quick shots.

Miscellaneous flora + mushroom (maybe flora?):

I think this was given to my mother around the time I was born (by her father). Unfortunately the latch on the battery compartment is broken, so I'm not quite sure if it works. I'd probably toss it out, but it has her name engraved on the back, and I think I know exactly who did the engraving. :)

It's my only 'red-ringed' lens, and I'm not even sure if it works. Lol.

Noticed you shot some of these with the Tamron 90mm macro - how do you like the lens? Im chomping hard on the idea of getting this exact lens.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

I used to have three 85mm's, the 85 1.8 and an 85 f1.4 and the 90 f2.8. It was my macro lens intially. But I also was commonly stopping down my 85's to F2 and F2.8 because I'm not a junky for the thinnest depth of field possible where noses are out of focus and other silly stuff like that. I like a soft environment, but not totally blasted to nothing. So I was using my 90 F2.8 more often. It's sharp as all get out wide open, it's weather sealed, internal focusing, macro, and has image stabilization (4 stops), so I can drag the shutter in lower light. It's just a very versatile lens in many ways. So I sold all my 85's and kept the 90mm F2.8 VC as my mainstay. I use it over my 200 F2.8L for portrait because I prefer the 85mm range which the 90 falls in, as you are close enough to the subject working distance wise to speak normally and not scream to issue instruction, and then when it comes to lighting, like speedlites in the sun, being close is ideal there, otherwise I use my strobe to beat down the sun, but still, I don't like having to have over 20 feet of working distance, it's just not ideal for me, so shorter distances are ideal. The lens is about $450 used these days, and it's an absolute steal, it's as good as the 100L, for half the cost. Again, not for someone who's a super shallow depth of field junky, they can use the 85 F1.2 or 135L or 200 F2L if they want smeared environments. But, I like the environment, I go to a location for it, not to blur it out of existance. So it's served well.

I've been filling this thread with macro (insects mostly) and portrait: https://photography-on-the.net …ead.php?t=1255495&page=15
