I appear to have a nest of snakes under my concrete boat launch at my new house. After getting over the initial shock of almost stepping on one, now I know they're there I'm happy to let them be. They even let me get quite close for some photos.

Just picked up one for myself last week. I now understand why there is so much talk about this lens.

Test shots on a couple cedar waxwings...

From my first outing shooting BIF's with it. Definitely a LOT easier than using the 500mm. Not sure if the near-instantaneous focus acquisition is due to the 7DII and/or this lens (previously used the 50D for such images - and, yes, it has been a while since shooting BIF's).

A stellar performer with the 5DIV for moving subjects as well.
No teleconverter for this one.

Hi x_tan, we have discovered your fabolous pictures here and at Flickr and we would like to ask you if we can publish one of your pictures in the German magazine Eisenbahn-Romantik. Tried to contact you thru flickr, but without success. Would be happy to get a response at wsch3@gmx.de . Many thanks.
