I was just wondering how many of you came from a 7d2 to the 5dlV that shoot wildlife. I am really thinking about making the move. What are your pro's and con's between the two.

For quite some time I was hesitant to make that move because of the "reach" factor. But I could not be happier that I did. I did not like the 1.4x TC on the 7D2, just could not get an IQ that was good for me. Eventually, I was shooting it with a naked 100-400 II.

Moving to the 5D4, using the same lens and the 1.4x TC gives me almost the same FOV as before, but I love the IQ of that combo. Now the 5D4 is my all around camera for everything.

I don't have the 1.4x or even do a lot of wildlife, but I would agree about the "camera for everything". I just got the 5D4 and sold the 7D2. I may eventually get a 100-400 or the cheaper Sigma to handle the longer shots.

I kept my 7DII, but I find myself shooting more and more with the 5DIV in situations where I used to count on my 7DII. The quality and the "impact" of the images are worth it. I am surprised by how flexible the 5DIV is...
