Here's a pullback from the other day. It shows the two stripboxes, tall narrow softboxes, along with a beautydish, gray background, and reflector I used for a selfie.

I'll post a link to the selfie instead of posting it again.

Quite involved compared to me sitting in my doghouse blind :)
But I'd like to explore that genre sometime. I guess I just need to start collecting the parts and pieces.

I need to check with Poof and make sure she has that trip on the calendar. I know she's got me on a 25 day trip Yellowstone/Glacier end of August.

Wow, that sounds amazing. I've done two and three-weekers to Glacier and just can't get enough of the place. Especially love the awesomeness of Many Glacier and Two Medicine.

Yellowstone is great, especially for wildlife, but the scenery is dull in comparison.

I'm the same about Glacier. Been 4 times now and can't wait to return.

David,TSmith, if you guys have specific places I need to hit in Glacier let me know.
I've been to both places in the past but that was a few years ago.
In Yellowstone I'll be at Lamar Valley and Hayden Valley in the early a.m. and evenings looking for
critters. Last time in Yellowstone I paddle camped on the lake for 5 days and saw nary a soul save one
lone backpacker way off in the distance. Poof needs to see some of the places I'd normally avoid--Old Faithful, etc.,
so I'll suffer along for those afternoon forays.

Here's my quick try using two strip lights but...I did cheat by selecting the lens in post, inverting and darkening down the bg. I also made a second selection of the lens to boost the highlights.

It's not as good as I would lke but I'll save this challenge for another attempt later.

I'm really enjoying my strip boxes. They're bigger than I would prefer but at $45 each, I couldn't go too wrong.

Thanks. It wasn't easy making a selection of the lens against a dark background but it helped to use the 'quick selection tool' in combination with the 'pen tool'. I've been trying to get more practice with using the pen tool lately too.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results Carlo. These stripboxes have a Bowens mount btw.

I do love the sun stars from the Loxia 21. Not a great sunrise yesterday though.

Overcast skies can really make for nice soft light.

Yeah I need to snag those godox bowens brackets too. Also need to replace the battery pack on my AD360 since I fried it.

Awesome! I really like the way the sun's reflection in the patio furniture makes it stand out. Did you also use the darken/lighten filter in Color Efex 4?

Thanks Gene. Actually I didn't use Color Efex on this one. I used Photomatix for the blending and then most of the edits were done in LR.

The sky appears a bit gray and darker up too. That's from the mesh metal roof, not HDR blending.

You remind me that I have a Westcott 48" strip box I need to get rid of. Even have a grid for it.

Before I moved I wanted to do more studio product and still life projects, but now I literally have no room for that.
