Thanks, it is always a concern when things dry out. I've been busy establishing a defensible fire perimeter around the place. Fire season here normally lasts well into October.

I've had a few fire assignments to Cali. Must admit that they were my least favorite place in the U.S. to fight fire. A defensible perimeter is entirely worth the effort. Good luck to you this summer and fall.

In contrast to photos above, everything is Green here. Even local people will disagree but we usually receive more rain in June than any other month, and down pours with thunderstorms are common, warm and humid. Received 3 inches of rain the last two days of June and the crops are loving it. None of that 122 degree stuff, WOW, and no fires. I had planned to take my camera today and get some nice captures but soon after this snapshot plans changed, no more photography for the day.

Nice to see all the green Steve. I do believe some of the states to your North would be quite envious of all your green. Speaking of green. This just may be the first picture I've ever seen that was taken by someone while driving a John Deere tractor.ߙ

That fire is close Tim. A shift in the wind could be real trouble. Good luck with your fire perimeter.

Be safe, Tim. Like you, we are in fire season. Fortunately, this one isn't too close to homes yet. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of forest around here to begin with, and with all the fires burning through them...

Pano shot from this morning. Hard to get focus with all the haze. Started an album here (external link)

Since my area has been the recipient of the 122°F weather, I spent a lot of time here >

Great shots folks......I hope that all of you in the fire zones stay safe.

The Canada Day Parade is always a sign of the season here.
