Problem is, my smart phone has a dumb user

I have never been able to figure out how to "download an app", let alone get my phone to "talk to" other devices. I've tried to do this stuff over and over again, and am always met with some kind of roadblock that I cannot overcome. So, as nice as it'd be to use the phone, I don't aticipate that I will ever be able to figure out how to get that technology to work for me.

I actually think that I would use the articulating screen a whole lot. Why do I think this? Because the touchscreen focus would actually change the way that I shoot. The way I do it now, with selecting AF points, is quite cumbersome and time-consuming. And I still fail to get it exactly right all the time.
The touch focus thing seems like it would be so awesome that I could see myself using it for the majority of my shooting. This would necessitate that I change from being an optical viewfinder user to a liveview user. I absolutely hate using liveview now, but touch focus would make it worth the change.

The 70D has this feature. Not sure about your wildlife example but I can definitely see a use for it in a confined area where you can set up the camera with an appropriate FOV then just tap the screen to focus and take the shot. Brings 'candid' shots to a new level. Really looks like something you could have fun with.
