Good first time! suggesting on those beanbag fabrics, make sure you get those pulled as tight as possible before shooting because those wrinkles are so hard to get out in post. I would also try using a more shallow DOF to blur out the back of it, bringing more focus on the baby.

Inconsistent editing. Way over smoothed to not color matching? What's with the two drastic editing choices?

I can't argue with your comments. I'm guessing I rushed to post.

Consistency and perfect editing in newborn sessions isn't something that anybody gets right on the first try...or the second...or the third. Keep learning and keep shooting. You're doing fine.

Thank you. Can always count on photography forums for truthful, if not brutal feedback. ;) The final gallery was much more consistent.

No worries! Your critique was honest and correct. I get post happy when I'm excited to share a session and I get truly sloppy. I've had much more "direct" feedback than yours. I can take it. :)

Looks very nice! I have been trying out taking some shots of my 2 week old and I now have a lot of respect for those who make it look easy!
