Supposedly the the new 16-35GM is even better on paper than the 12-24. I want to see some tests results with the 16-35GM before deciding on which one to get.

from the samples, the 16-35gm looks better.

patience is killer for me, since I've got money sitting in my PP account, and I'm not really missing anything.

12-24 vs 16-35 gm, I can probably make a gigantic list of pros and cons for both

16-35 gm consolidates 2 lenses for me

12-24 consolidates 2 lenses however I lose filter functionality.

it would seem like rocket science, yet my head is still spinning over it.

Don't you guys think the 16-35GM should beat the 12-24, it should be $500 better.
Charlie I'm sure you've seen this-
https://nisifilters.com.au …y-fe-12-24mm-f4-g-lenses/ (external link)

I just ordered a Sharpstar to fit a B18 which I don't have but placed an offer on one at FM, wish me luck on that.
I really like the paper looks of the Sigma 14mm until I look at the weight of it. That weigh means I won't carry it and
that's just being true to myself.

I already have a lot of bombo filter stuff, which works with both 100mm and 150mm filters, and I'm trying to stay away from 150mm, not travel friendly.

for anything astro, by far my favorite lens, the rokinon 24 f1.4. Also have the 14, but the 16-35gm would be intended to replace it, and make a place in my event shooting bag.

I only need 1 wide lens for event photos, a 16-35 or 24-70, I dont need anything wider.

if I go the 24-70 route, then 24 would be my widest filter configuration, 16-35, then that would be my filtered lens.

24-70 much more preferable with events, in a pinch, I can use that lens alone and get good results. That lens pairs better with the 12-24 when it comes to most landscapes, however my favorite variety involve ocean and water, which means filters. I have a set of rear gels I can play for now, if feasible, then I'de prefer the 12-24, 24-70 combo in all honesty.

Im holding out for the 16-35 gm even though it takes away my favorite lox 21. the 10 will have to do for the UWA

However. I did NOT like the distortion on the 16-35/4 Canon ;) and am hoping that this Sony will perform like the 12-24 looks like it might.

The other thing I am noticing is that it appears sony has figured out the initial run quantities better. More peeps are getting the lenses and they seem to be in stock better than earlier models.

Get ready for a Lox 21 and FE 28, FE 55 sale

Anyone know the Atlanta area pretty well? I'll be around the area at the end of August for almost 2 weeks on business. I would love to get some shots of the skyline. Any state parks nearby or other can't miss photo spots?

Awesome images Travis. I didn't know you lived in ATL. I knew David was close by. Yeah we definitely need to meet up. Would love to hang out with you guys and shoot. I'll keep you posted so we can firm up a date and time.

I got lucky when the water misters turned on further emphasizing the rain forest feel to this capture. By the way, I wish there was a way to change the white background on POTN to dark grey like FM. Images seem to pop more with a darker background.

Batis 18

Edit: I might crop down a bit to get rid of the light up top.

Owned it on the 5D3 and used it on the A7R. Great lens. Sold it to johnph on this forum. Basically the same performance as the FE 16-35 f/4
