Eagles will be eagles. Admittedly, this fish was a beautiful Atlantic Salmon, so worthy of a good fight.

A couple more....it was fun to watch as one eagle caught the salmon, then there was a huge fight among several others who grabbed the salmon away, moved it to another gravelbank, another fight, and finally an adult swooped in and grabbed it and left when the others were fighting.

OK last 2.
1. A bunch of the juvies wondering what just happened, and where the salmon went.

2. And to the winner go the spoils. While the juvies were all fighting over the salmon, this adult swooped in and grabbed it and took off with it.

Yep, thanks JD. There seemed to be an overabundance of immature ones in this crowd.

Great shots -- but despite being beautiful, that's no salmon -- it's a shad.

LOL! Yes so I have been told by the local fishermen. I think the Eagles like shad as much as they like salmon. Thanks for commenting :-)
