My latest "brain"storm-A backyard photo site that can be relocated as the needs change. My thinking is for hummingbirds in the summer and regular feeders other times in a different location.
First, the base-
At a welding shop, cost would be in the $100. area. If you have a welder friend as I did, somewhat less. 1/2 " rod and I believe he used 14 ga. plate. Made mine 3' long and sized to receive a 4x4. Should have increased the opening to maybe around 4"-then could use shims to help plumb vertically. Try as I might, could not drive the base perfect. Gave it coats of Rust-oleum primer and flat black.

I cut 1 foot off the 8' treated 4x4. I personally think cedar would make a nicer appearing post, but cost is significantly higher here. The hooks I found online thru Amazon, Greybunny forged at $15./pr. Bought the 7"dia. 24" long duct piece at Lowes. Everything else is leftovers or scavenged-vinyl deck leftovers from porch project last summer, a large plastic planter saucer and misc. hardware. Used Gorilla Original glue that is exterior rated.
Using saucer as an ant moat, birdbath and seed waste catcher. Cut opening for 4x4 and built dam around opening w/ deck scraps and glue so it would hold water. Hoping that holds up!
Yes, movable but that will be a bit of a chore, so will not happen too often. As said, maybe twice a year. I ill post any follow-ups, that seem worth mentioning.
