I'm looking to buy a decent tripod. I have no experience with them whatsoever. My setup is a Canon 7D mark ii and a Sigma 150-600mm C lens. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot at the moment. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

What do you consider "a whole lot"?
Really Right Stuff make excellent tripods if $1,500 isn't out of the question.

That's what I consider a whole lot lol. Don't wanna spend on a tripod what would buy me a whole new setup basically.

Depends where you live. Here, in the UK, RRS tripods are silly money - but Gitzo are often quite reasonable, If you live in the US then Gitzos get very pricey!

My most expensive, current, tripod is a Gitzo GT 4542LS (somewhat large) which was £375 ($484) direct from Gitzo UK earlier this year. If new prices for Gitzo tripods are a bit scary in your area have a look at a used 2 or better 3 series carbon fiber model - they often sell quite cheap and even quite an old one would outlast me!

it would still help to know how much you'd like to spend...also what are you intending to shoot with it?

I actually ended up buying a Manfrotto yesterday from a local store. Thanks for the suggestions! So far I'm loving it.
